Jackson Heights is a great place to live and to visit. It's come along way from the 1980s when it was knows in some circles as the "cocaine capital of the world." Today its diversity and historic sites have turned it into a tourist attraction.
The following tours are available.
- Jackson Heights Beautification Group - In June of each year the sponsors tours of neighborhood's many private gardens.
- Urban geographer and Queens Borough Historian Dr. Jack Eichenbaum offers an excellent series of walking tours planned, focusing on Changing Cultures of Queens. Once or twice a year he includes Jackson Heights in his tours. See his tour catalog here.
- Context Tours is a global tour organization that runs a Jackson Heights tour. At $90 per head, some might find it a tad pricey.
