Edward A. MacDougall headed a group of investors that formed the Queensboro Corporation on August 12, 1909. The corporation's goal was to develop an area of Elmhurst then called Trains Meadow, into what today is known as Jackson Heights. MacDougall served as president of the corporation.

Mr. Edward A. MacDougall made it possible for Saint Joan of Arc Church to hold the parish's first Mass at the Casino on Sunday, June 5, 1920. This day had great significance because Saint Joan of Arc parish was officially established.[1]
