Seven bus routes pass through Jackson Heights. This page focuses on the Q49.
The Q49 bus is a local service running between the Victor A. Moore Bus Terminal at Roosevelt Avenue and 74th Street in Jackson Heights (where it connects with the E, F, M, R and 7 trains) and East Elmhurst. In East Elmhurst the bus terminates at Astoria Boulevard and 102nd Street. The return route begins at 102nd Street and 31st Avenue.
The Q49 bus service started in January 1938, when it was operated by the Triboro Coach Corporation. Today it is operated by the MTA. The Q49 was originally known as the Q19B, but was renumbered to Q49 on April 20, 2008.
